In the first quarter of 2020, amidst the pandemic, DNC compassion at work was a pioneer of virtual running and walking activities. The programme was one of the first virtual running events in Indonesia with the theme of “Lean on Me”. While the event took the form of a virtual sports activity, the main goal was to elevate the collective spirit at time of collective hardship to dare us all: to help, to take steps, to take action, for a better Indonesia. “Lean on Me” - a catch-cry to the capable, to dare them to take positive action, to stand up and help others who were experiencing pandemic related difficulty. The event successfully raised a considerable amount of funds that were donated to the Bagi Asa program. Key initiators and contributors included Katadata, Bisnis Indonesia, SWA, KBR, Accelerice, Foodbank of Indonesia, and Hendra Soenardi LawFirm, as well as the “Konser untuk Indonesia” event supported by SCTV and broadcasted by Voice of America.
